To solve the issue you can rebuild the index and/or grant the index additional extents.
Check the alert log to see what index is in question.

Hi,
If the pager is alphanumeric, you can page them with their email address.
For ex: I get paged to 4082762664@alphapage.airtouch.com. ( no. is wrong here ) You can
find out the pager's email address and use your mailx command ( or whichever command you
wish to use ) to page to that pager.
I also get pagers whenever there is FND lock on FND objects and whenever the PROD database
goes down and whenever the conc. mgr.s go down.
If the pager is numeric, please check BARBARA MATHEWS presentation on Conc. Mgr. on Search
Engine how she gets paged to her numeric pagers.

Give some more details, so that we can understand your problem clearly. Version?
Formatting alert message is little bit painful especially if you have too many fields in
your select statement and you want to lot of information in your alert message. Be
specific, what exactly is happening. It depends on where you are placing your &fields
and length of the values retrieved by each field. Use format masks for number fields. Try
to place any description fields at the end. These are the fields which have variable
length. This will eliminate some formatting pain.

Try taking substring for segment1,description,item_description and full_name. There is a
chance that the length of these fields is so long that it is wrapping to the next line and

We activated the Periodic Alert Scheduler and alerts were firing every

Oracle Support told us that the workaround was to specify not only a start

an end time and check interval as well. Is this something new in R11? We
did not have to specify these in R10.7SC.

Cathy -
What platform does the Apps reside on? You want to use the native
platform
to send email to your account. There is a profile option that needs to be
set as well, it indicates what mail service you are using. I'm sorry I
don't have the name of the profile option, as I don't have access to the
Apps at this moment. Also, is your mail service running on this platform?
This is a very easy effort and don't get confused about having to user
Interoffice - you don't need it. Let me know if you have any questions...
or feel free to call me at the below number and I can walk you through the
process... thanks, good luck!

Hi,
We send email from Alert all the time. We are using Outlook 98. Our
environment is IBM AIX 7.3.4 10.7 16.1SC.
The setup we have under Alert Manager GUI:System:Options(Mail Systems
alternate region) is:
Name Command In Use
Unix sendmail /usr/lib/sendmail x
We use the internet email address of our users (separated by commas, but not
in quotes) to send the output from the alerts.
To identify which Oracle instance (Production, Test, etc.) the alert is
coming from we have a different value for "Send Mail Account Description"
(i.e. "ORAPROD Oracle Alert" or "ORATEST Oracle Alert") for each instance.

We had a bigger problem because we had various number of Alerts firing for
each of the PO's approved. We still have a TAR open with Oracle, but am not
working it very aggresively because of other issues.
However, let me ask you a question how many org's do you have setup??
I am beginning to think that it could be something to do with the Multi-Org

Hi Milo,
You are right. The system might be updating the table twice. I think you are
using event alert. Is your message levle "Detail"? For Summary level message
there is no way you can supress the duplicates. For "Detail" level message
check the following set ups.
1. Have you set up at least one approval level. ( I cannot recollect the
exact name). You can get it from the special menu. It's used for sending
your email to the next level in the hierachy.
2. If no.1 set up is done and you are still getting duplicate emails then
the only way to suppress the duplicate is to change the alert from event to
periodic. This will definitely suppress you duplicates. You can run your
even periodically once in 10 minutes to send the emails.
Hope this helps.
