Subject: index on MTL_CST_ACTUAL_DETAILS TABLE
Hi guys I found one index on this above mentioned table resides in different
tablespace.
I am wondering it is by default or it is just mistake on your system.
the details are as below :
index_name / tablespace_name / table_name
---------------- ------------------------- -----------------
mtl_cst_actual_details_n1 /BOMX /mtl_cst_actual_details
As it is INV object and as per OFA it should be in INVX tablespace rather
then BOMX.
Note : other index on this table is mtl_cst_actual_details_u1 resides on
INVX tablespace.
any kind of feedback greatly appreciated.
thanks.

To me, this looks like a mistake. My mtl_cst_actual_details resides in INV
tablespace.
I believe there is a trick to move things, but am not sure how it is done.
Good luck.

Hi
This index belongs to cost information. By default cost module (CST) is
owned by BOM. That might be reason this index is kept in BOMX tablespace.
Hope this helps

set long 10000000
select text from dba_views where view_name like ' ';
find the name of the table after from clause.

Dropping Tables - lower case
Hi,
My consultant accidently created a table in the database with
a lower case name. If I look thorugh TOAD, I can see the table but its
name is lower case while other table is upper case.
when I issue the drop table command in svrmgrl, oracle prompted
saying table or view doesn't exist. I have checked the spelling.
Any idea to drop this lower case name table will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance..

Hi,
We are using Oracle Apps Rel 11 on WinNT and trying to

I know this is possible in Unix using shell scripts.
But, how it
can be done

Can it be
done outside
Oracle Apps? Is there any command in NT that can be used

Thank you in advance.

Hi Basanta,
We are doing almost same thing -
Transferring Files from Novell to NT and then NT to Unix.
Once Files are transferred to Unix it will be loaded in APPS
Tables.
Every thing has to be done in Automatic Batches.
In Order to do same you need to write some script on NT and
then it will
work as Gateway and will transfer files.
Let me know if you need that script.

Sometimes Oracle creates views for the sole purpose of making it easier on
the programmers. This is the case for AP_CHECKS_V and PO_LINES_V and other
views. You can find this info in the TRM 10.7 update. They warn that these
views may change dramatically in any Oracle release. I would assume this is
why you are having so much trouble with them. The also recommend that you do
not query on them or alter data.

There is no screen in Rel 11 where you can register tables etc.

Hi Erik
You can register the New tables, views and sequences in Oracle Applications
Release 11 NCA using the Application Developer Responsibility.
Before registering the table, view or sequence in Apps, you should create
the table in the Oracle database and grant necessary privileges to the
APPLSYS oracle user.
After that Go to Application Developer-Application-Database-Table. In
this screen you can register your tables.
With best wishes.

Manoj,
Are you sure that you can register tables/synonyms etc under this menu path.
What I suppose, is you have to use AD_DD package for registering Tables etc.
after 10.6. Registering through screens is avoided after 10.6 versions.
Please let me know if I am wrong.....
Erik,
Also please check AD_DD package. you can also check SYSADMIN Documentation
for this purpose...

This is the easiest way to do it, with out assistance from any DBA, Apps.

This process can be safely done from the front end Application Developer GUI

You can use AD_DD package if your using those table columns in Flexfileds

In 10.6 we use to register the tables but in 10.7 or 11 there is no need of
registering a table, you can develop a form without registering a table.

You don't need to register the tables in 10.7 and higher version of Apps.U
just
have to make sure that the tables are created under the particular
applications
in which they are going to be used.

Hi Anand
That's not totally true..
If you 're using that table to store flexfield values then you have to
register even in 10.7 too. More over if you 're using the custom table as a
driving table in alert still you need to register. In all the other cases
you don't require to register the table in 10.7 and above.
