Subject: adpatch

Can somebody provide this info ?

At the end of execution of adpatch we get the following message :-

Updating the Patch History File...
Done updating the Patch History File.

Where this patch history file is being stored ? Any ideas ? (Platform :- Oracle 8.0.5, Apps 11.0.3 , Rs/6000-Aix 4.3, web server, concurrent manager, datbase all on same server.)

Kind regards,

Check under your admin directory, there is a directory pertaining to your sid name. Under this directory there are several files named "applptch". Those file contain history of the patches applies, and what was their action.

Patchset c on NT fdload job very slow

Subject: cpur bound during patch 10.7 nca

We are apply patchset c on NT 10.7 nca. One of the fdload jobs steps ran for 6 hours. This is our development system and has only 2 processors versus 4 in production. Task manager reports adpatch and adworker (2) consuming 100 % cpu. Has anyone else seen this problem where jobs take longer than expected. Oracle stated it should have run in only a few minutes.

i'm currently going through the applptch log to verify i've got all patches recorded. but it would be easier if there is a table that they're recorded too as well.

Hi Sean !

ADPATCH doesnot create any table to record patches. It creates FND_INSTALL_PROCESS and drops after successful installation of the patch.

You haveto check the applpatch.txt to verify the patches. it defaults to $APPL_TOP/admin/SID

Sean,

Now that would be nice! I think the reason is because you can get client patches and non-database patches too. We knocked up a little Oracle TAR Logging system in Dev2000 where we recorded TARs & Patches from Oracle and the instances they were applied to, both server & client, etc.

Dont forget to check the patch log on your "client" server too.

Thats about all you can do. Even then your DBAs will miss one out somewhere...

Cheers,
Steve

Hi,
I reviewed the applptch.txt and it is too large to define the patches ! Any way to get the patch's numbers ??
