Stu,

Get them all at Oracle Support's site, http://www.oracle.com/support.

I suggest you also subscribe to Oracle Support's SupportNotes, and they will send you a CD every quarter, which includes the latest e-manuals, scripts, bug lists, and other cool stuff (cool for DBAs, boring as hell to all else). It is one of the best values around. The cost? $0.00.

I could only find the PDF's on Metalink 1.7 and I couldn't even find those on Metalink 2.0.

What I was really looking for was a website with the html documentation already loaded. There used to be a couple of them, but my links no longer work. I finally tracked down a CD, and put it on our intranet, but it would be useful to know if there are any up to date sites on the Internet.

I didn't know about SupportNotes, but it sounds well worth the money, so I just subscribed.

Thanks, Stu

Bhaskar,
This exist on unix. I found adb debug utility by running $ORACLE_HOME/bin/unixenv and the last line in output is Tracing{ adb truss crash }. If you find any other debug utility then you have to use that.

I don't know much, but the file associated with the core dump can be identified uusin dbx as follows:

$ dbx core
where
quit
$

Knowing the executable that generated the dump can help narrow down where the problem lies.

Subject: Installation of ORACLE8 on AIX

ENVIRONMENT:

Operating System is AIX v4.3.2

PROBLEM:
RELINKING ERROR:
1. The executable for Oracle8 (RDBMS) were not made successful.
THEN EXISTS BACK TO INSTALLER.
2. Same message with TCP/IP and NET8 Names.

MY SECOND TRY:
I gave a try (believing that some compatibility problem between OS and ORACLE e.g. lpthreads) to the 30-Day trial CD of ORACLE 8.0.5 for AIX BUT get the same messages.

Kindly reply at the earliest. Thanks

Subject: Oracle 8 on NT4 SP5?

Hi everyone,

My DBA is here asking me whether or not Oracle 8 is certified on NT 4 Service Pack 5? We need to know for Y2K compliance issues.

Any clues?

Thanks in advance,

You will want to check, but Support told me that Oracle on NT was certified against every SP that Microsoft puts out. I'm still running SP4 (issue not under my control).
