ADE working in 11.02

Hi,
Does anybody have ADE working in release 11.02? We are at the point in
our project where we want to start setting up ADE but our project staff has
been to several Oracle sponsored classes and ADE was never able to work in
any of them. Just don't want to waste any time or effort.......
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We are in the same boat as you.
The HR Director saw a 'demo' where ADE worked, but we have been unable to
get there. Oracle support has not been very helpful.
Let me know if you get a positive response.
By the way, don't try to put in Employee Pictures OR try to use Attachments
either!

Ken,
We haven't had any problems with attachments but according to Support,
pictures will not be working until 11.05. Also, FYI - release 11.03 just
came out but our consultant was told by a few people that it is still
unstable. We are going to remain at 11.02 for a while until we hear better
news.

There are (several) patches available for Attachments in 11.02. If you need
the numbers, I can do a little research.

I was working on it a few weeks ago, and seem to get it 3/4's done. I have
yet to go back and finish up do to other taskings. However, I used the
applicant view that was on the server side, created a letter on the client
side containing the appropriate merge features, and placed it in ADE's
letters directory. I was then able to do the call from within ADE, and
create the letters.
There are times when I have had to close ADE to get the letters to generate.
Once again, this is a bit rough, because I have not had time to tailor it
as-of-yet.
Initially we did have a problem, because the HR Data Export Screen would not
activate.

O/S - Digital Unix Ver 4.0c
ADE 32 Bit Version Ver 11.0.1
Navigation Path : Launch Oracle APPS, choose US HRMS Manager -> People ->
Salary Management -> F8 (Blind Query) . Launch ADE -> Choose default folder,
Spread sheet -> Start. This creates a excel file (HRIO.xls). Update the
Change Date or Proposed Salary or Proposed Reason Column(s). Save the
updated file.
Click upload , Choose Correction (default), Click Load . Point to HRIO.xls
file to upload. The system gives error-116 .
Objective : To upload changes made in HRIO.xls file into Oracle APPS enmase
through ADE.
Note : When ADE is launched standalone and People [General] Style is
selected from styles folder ADE gives me error 116. The script views107.sql
has been run .

In the documentation for installing ADE there is a statement that one
must use the launcher.exe program before invoking NCA (browser) access
to the database so that the ADE product can communicate with one's
Applications session correctly (which is what we are currently using).
There was a hint in there about an Oracle patch to replace
launcher.exe so that this extra step would no longer be required.
Does anyone know if such a patch has been released yet, and if not,
when one might become available?

Hi,
We are on 11.0.2, ADE version 11.1.6 and would like to generate letters
using ADE from the HR application. I tried using the predefined style,
Letter Test, which uses the view HRV_PEOPLE_LETTERS. The mail merge document
is present under ADE\Letters. My question is: what are the steps that must
be carried out in order to submit a letter request from the HR application?
Please reply in detail as I have been through the steps mentioned in the ADE
user guide but to no avail. If I run a query in ADE and export it to Excel
and then mail merge it works fine, so the trouble seems to be that when
submitting the request no data is read from the application.

What controls whether a responsibility can use the organization or
position hierarchies in ADE. Some responsiblities seem to go to
the part that has all the tabs(organization, position, discover, etc).
Other responsibilities go straight to the query screen.
What's the difference?
