Time Entry form in Paymix Summary

Subject: [orahrms-l] Payroll: Time Entry Screen

We are on version 10.7 NCA and are having a problem with the Time Entry form in Paymix Summary. We cannot query in the status field, which means we have to manually review all the lines to get to the errored records. The form name is PAYBTENT and we are on version 4.0.23. WWS has replicated this problem, but I can't believe there isn't a later version of this form (since the version we are running is dated 06-sept-1996). Is anyone running 10.7 NCA using a later version of this form? Do you have the same problem? Do you have a bug number for getting an updated version of the form? Thanks in advance.

Combined Person and Assignment form

From: IjlalR@mashreqbank.com
Subject: HR: Customized Forms

Hi,

We are currently implementing Oracle HR and Payroll 11.0.2 and would like to restrict the records seen on the Combined Person and Assignment form (PERWSHRG) according to the Person Type. The problem is that this form is not available in the LOV that is on the Custom Form window even though the documentation lists this form under 'forms you can customize'. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Extra Information Type/11.03

Subject: [orahrms-l] Extra Information Type

Hi all,

For some reasons, I was not able to see Extra Information Type in 11.03 under US HRMS responsibility in the Vision Demo instance. Could someone explain why can't I see this information and what do I need to do in order for me to see the information? I thought US HRMS can see everything but I guess not in this case. Also, I didn't find any information under the implementation guide. Could someone tell me where can I read more about this new feature in 11.03?

Thanks, Tony

Actual Termination Dates

Subject: [orahrms-l] Actual Termination Dates
From: Linda Buix linda.buix@aris.com
Date: Fri, 12 Mar 1999 07:56:30 -0800

Due to the nature of the business operations they do not receive notice of terminated employees in a timely fashion. The issue of course is that you cannot go back and enter an actual termination date once an employee has processed in a run. (with or without earnings)

We need to be able to go back and override the date in this field. We have tried removing the trigger, but this did not offer us the functionality we needed.

I am aware of the functionality of the process date versus actual term date, but once again we need to override the actual term date.

I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Adjust Tax Balance Form

Subject: [orahrms-l] Adjust Tax Balance Form
From: "Hunter, Patricia A." HuntPA@jea.com
Date: Wed, 17 Mar 1999 11:20:59 -0500

All-

I have been having troubles using the Adjust Tax Balance Form. When I enter in the appropriate information, I get the following Error message:

APP-50014: The input_value_id for the input was not found

The input_value_id for the input value as not found.

Has anyone else experienced this same problem? If so, what did you do to resolve the situation so that you could use the Adjust Tax Balance Form? I do have a TAR open with Oracle Support, but as of today, have gotten no assistance as to what my next step should be. I have sent a trace file to the analyst and will let you all know what the outcome is.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Patty:

I have used this form and don't recall receiving this error. My first thought is to confirm that there is no Date Track End Dates on any of the input values. Is this tax adjustment for a terminated employee? Perhaps there are some elements that have been end dated.

Are there any scenarios where you have gotten Adjust Tax Balance to work properly?

Change the Payment Method

Subject: [orahrms-l] Direct Deposit
From: nmolstad@usmarine.com
Date: Wed, 7 Apr 1999 15:09:31 -0700

Hi,

We are trying to add Direct Deposit to a persons payment method. We are unable to do this unless there is no other payment method on the persons record. We cannot get the priority to change once it is saved and we cannot use the same priorty more than once. So when a person who has Check as their payment method decides to change to direct deposit, we are not able to add that payment method to their record.

Subject: RE: [orahrms-l] Direct Deposit
From: pkandra@civicdevelopment.com

Make sure that Direct Deposit is setup as a valid payment method at the payroll level (Payroll, Description, Valid Payment Methods) and is also setup as an organizational payment method. (Payroll, Payment Methods) I can't think of any other reasons for the issue you're experiencing.

Mass update of Applicants

From: Marianne Brooks mbrooks@standard.com

We are running SmartClient 16.1 and have discovered some oddities with the Mass update of Applicants form. When we Terminate the applications of folks associated with a vacancy, the assignment and application are end dated but the status remains Active Application.

Does anyone out there actually use this form and can you elaborate on whether we might have high expectations or if this is an actual bug?

Thanks in advance

Customize Address Format for Canadian office

Subject: [orahrms-l] Canadian Address Format as Default?
From: "Kevin Jarrett" kejarr@copelco.com
Date: Thu, 17 Jun 1999 09:34:07 -0400

Hi everyone,

We are setting up our Canadian subsidiary (separate BG and SOB, thanks to our Financials friends) and I am having some difficulty getting the Canadian Address Format to pop up as the default.

We are 10.7SC/16.1, HR only, interface to Ceridian (w/VERTEX validation).

I'm most concerned with the Person form. I want our Canuck users to not have to select Canada as an address style when they enter someone's address.

Any clues? Support has been useless.
Thanks, kj

I haven't seen exactly this error but I've seen something like it when we applied only 1 side of a patch, i.e. server but not client or vice versa.

All,

This actually is problem with several packages, seems when database version is 8 or higher.

However, since you have the procedure, you may need to verify the calls in the procedure body and header to determine the problem. Then notify Support with the information, this usually helps solve the problem quicker.

Defining Payment method

I am facing problem in defining the payment method in V 11.0 while doing the set up. I am getting default method as payment to third party and I am not allowed to change it (field protected from change).

Could anyone suggest as to how to define payment method for employee payment by cheque and cash, currency & country for an Organization.

Thanks Rajan

From: pkandra@civicdevelopment.com

Ranga,

There are 2 steps to setting up payment methods. The 1st is to create the different payment methods themselves through the Payroll, Payment Methods menu path. The 2nd is to attach these payment methods to different payrolls via the Payroll, Description, Valid Payment Methods menu path. You choose the default payment method for a payroll from the Default frame when you're defining a payroll.

Hope this helps.

Unable to make changes in Assignment window

Subject: [orahrms-l] Security Profiles
From: "Jenine Knight" jknight@se-tech.com
Date: Wed, 14 Jul 1999 18:28:33 -0400

We created custom security profiles. The security is working fine when accessing the employee records. However when we try to go into the Assignment window we are getting the following error: "value 21 invalid". We can access the the assignment window but it won't allow us to make any changes to the records. It keeps giving us the same error message.

Any suggestions - thanks for the help.

Have you made any key or desc flex field changes? That really sounds like what you get when you have values outside of a valueset.

Query of People where name includes apostrophe

Subject: [orahrms-l] HR People Entry
From: Ken Durand kd2809@yahoo.com
Date: Fri, 16 Jul 1999 09:09:27 -0400 (EDT)

Version 10.7 NCA... We are entering a new employee (last name O'Brian). This is the first person where we have had an apostrophe in the last name. After enty, when we try to find the employee, the search engine can't locate them.

Is this an undocumented feature in 10.7, or is there maybe a patch that is supposed to correct this?

I am using Oracle HRMS version 11 with Oracle 8 Database.

I tried to work on Career Management window and two forms related to Competence Types and Competence Requirements are not opening at all and they are hanging.

Is there anyone out there facing similar problems or what could be the possible error.

Thanks Rajan

Rajan,

I have been working extensively with version 11.0.2 and 11.0.3 for the past four months. I have not experienced any problems with Competence Types and Competence Requirements. Both of those forms are working fine in both 11.0.2 and 11.0.3. However, I am having a problem with 11.0.3 and the work choice form. The QuickCodes I defined for PER_TIME_SCALES, PER_WORK_HOURS, and PER_WORK_SCHEDULE, do not appear in the LOV. I have called Oracle support but to date not received a solution. If anyone else has experienced this problem and gotten it resolved, I would appreciate hearing from them.

EIT - restricting through Custom Form

Subject: [orahrms-l] Rel 11: restricting Extra Information Types thru use of CustomFor m & taskflow
From: Sandy Honigsberg Sandy.Honigsberg@orange.co.il
Date: Sun, 25 Jul 1999 10:15:22 +0200

Greetings to All:

Following the instructions contained in the Oracle White Paper on EIT's, I was able to successfully create and several Assignment-based EIT's in an 11.03 environment.

However, when I wished to restrict the EIT's through the use of Custom Forms, I found that the LOV of forms available for customization did NOT include the EIT form or any reference to anything remotely resembling it.

Question: what [parameters, patches, etc] do I need to add (and where) in order to allow this functionality to work (as it works for SIT's, for instance)?

I assume that I need to add at least the form name and the restrictions that

Apps supports for that form.

Thanks in advance.

Salary Administration and Salary History Windows giving App 51717 / APP-07293 errors

Subject: [orahrms-l] Inputting Salary history problems
From: "Crawford, Erin" ECrawfor@JPI.com
Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1999 13:07:15 -0500

We've recently had the problem of assigning a salary change to an employee. First we changed her from our semi-monthly payroll to our weekly payroll. Then we went into the salary administration screen and inserted a record. When we entered the date for the change, which is the same as the date we used to transfer this employee, we got this error: APP-51717 The salary proposal must have the same start date as the new salary basis for the employee. This doesn't make any sense to us because we were using the same date.

In order to get this employee paid that week with the new salary, we had to delete all of her salary history. Then the system allowed us to enter the new salary. After that, we decided we need to input her old salary records into the application, and we get this error: APP-07293 You cannot create new salary proposals when future approvals exist.

Has anyone seen either of these errors before or had problems entering new salary rate changes for particular employees? We are still able to enter salary changes for all other employees, so we think we have some sort of data corruption with this employee.

Your second problem is a feature. You must enter historical salary proposals before current entries. It forces you to do this because of the way it calculates percentages to get to the current salary. It doesn't want to possibly lose integrity.

The first problem I've had but your problem may be different. Have you applied the salary admin patch? You can tell if you have because on the new salary admin screen, in the upper right corner are the grade rates and compratio. If you do have the patch, I'm not sure what the problem is. If you don't that should fix it.

From: "Schwartz, Ken" kschwar@rwjf.org

Erin:

When you change and employee from semi-monthly to weekly the first thing you must change is the salary basis. When you change the salary basis you MUST do an UPDATE to change the effective date on the screen. THEN you navigate to the salary screen and enter the new salary. The reason for changing the salary basis is simple. That is what determines HOW MANY PAYROLL CYCLES this employee will be paid THIS YEAR.

If you change an employee from semi-monthly (24 pays per year) to weekly (52 pays per year) the system must be changed to reflect PAY FREQUENCY. If someone made $48,000 per year, that would be $2,000 for each semi-monthly pay period OR $923.08 for each weekly pay period.

Please contact me directly if there is anything you don't understand or disagree with.
