Hi All,
This type of error with other module is happening only when you
try to publish on to Excel. If you choose NetScape, or Notepad it is fine.

While it is true that any standard report from any module can be SUBMITTED,
our experience has been that they often cannot be published. For example,
I just tried the report that started this discussion (Expense Distribution
Detail Report) and it ended in an error. The same parameters submitted
within the Oracle forms run the report just fine. We have also had
problems with reports in AR and OE. The only standard reports that
regularly print reliably come from the General Ledger Module. We are
currently using version 4.1 of ADI.

Hi Jayakumar
No, ADI does not support such functionality with AP. Here when we want 3D
to view a report in XL we open the .OUT file in XL and convert txt to 3D
columns, and all other formating can be done. The same can be done for 3D
any report.

We are using Internet Explorer 4 with ADI Help and it is working. I loaded
the HTML files on my PC and then copied them to our intranet where all users
can access the help text. My only problem is that when the IE browser is
launched the user must enter their username= and password each time they
select a help icon. ADI Support told me that this is a local problem and I
need to check with my network administrator. I do not have IE 5 installed.

I have recently upgraded to ADI 4.1. The main reason that we did this was
to help expedite our Fixed asset implementation. Below are listed some of
the other benefits as quoted by the ADI development team at Oracle
1. Allows cell level formatting.
2. Include Fixed assets
3. Has faster performance - number quoted were 600% faster in JE
upload. 600% faster budget upload. 200% faster report request, 120%
faster sign on.
4. Tip wizard and Titorial Features
There are enhanced drill down features.
We are running oracle 10.7 SC, and I have not notice any
noticeable changes
in performance. The increase performance may be on other versions of
oracle.

Subject: RE: ADI 4.0 vs. 3.2 ????
I would agree that it is faster and that it has a few gimmicks that the
earlier version did not have.
The version that was stable on 10.7 3.1 did not connect with R11.
So we had to move and now we have 4.1 that has all the glitches resolved(?).
We still do have an open issue with the ADI fixed Asset load. We cannot
change the queue from NEW to POST , or for that matter of fact cannot change
anything on the Mass Additions Prepare screen.
We have a TAR open but can wait for a later implementation using the FA
functionality.
However, we are connecting with the Apps userid/passwd combo.

Adi 4.x has the fixed assets functionality built in (prod).
Further, I would imagine that it is a lot faster.
And if you are going to R11 I think 3.2 is the only first set of releases
that works with R11. And to use it fruitfully you have to upgrade to 4.x We
are on 4.x and have had a great time in testing and working things out. We
still have a couple of issues with the Assest functionality working but I am
sure we willhave a fix (maybe an upgrade!).

ENHANCED REPORT PUBLISHING:
ADI continues to improve the quality of published reports. After seeing ADI 5.0 demonstrated at the OAUG, many customers have decided to leverage ADI's enterprise quality reporting solution, eliminating the need for third part reporting tools.
Line Item Text Movement:
Move FSG line item text to any column within a published report, creating even more flexible and polished output. Reports created with this enhancement can showing the current month's activity, followed by the line item text, and then the year to date activity.
Request Center Displays FSG Name:
Have you ever looked at a list of completed FSGs and wondered which one was the Income Statement or the Balance Sheet? Well, wonder no more. The Request Center now displays the actual FSG name instead of the text "Financial Statement Generator", allowing you to quickly identify and publish any financial statement you had previously run.
Enhanced Cell Level Formatting:
- Format any row with a single or double line token. These tokens will produce report output that has the perspective of blank space existing between columns.
- Use the Blank Row token to control the formatting of all blank rows in report output.
- Define row heights within themes for application to both Web and Spreadsheet output.
- Automatically eliminate blank rows at the end of reports that were generated by the FSG engine.
ENHANCED JOURNAL VALIDATION:
Based upon your feedback, we have implemented a number of journal improvements that offer stronger control measures and facilitate smoother journal creation. These are especially vital for corporations that operate in a global, mass volume, and multi-currency transaction environment.
More Granular Balance Checking:
To enhance journal upload integrity, balance checking is performed for each unique combination of the following fields: Accounting Date/Period, Batch Name, Category, Conversion Date, Conversion Rate, Conversion Type, Currency, Encumbrance Type, Group ID, Journal Name, Reversal Date, Reversal Flag, Source.
Force Balanced Spreadsheet Journals:
When suspense posting is enabled for a set of books, both unbalanced subledger and spreadsheet journals are automatically balanced against the suspense account. We have introduced a new setup option that forces spreadsheet journals to balance before being uploaded, while maintaining the suspense posting capability for subledger feeds.
Balance Converted Journals within a Threshold:
During upload of foreign journals, converted debits and credits are calculated from the entered local currencies and the result is checked to ensure that it falls within a specified threshold. This check is designed to detect incorrectly entered conversion dates, rates, or types for complex multi currency journals.
Easily Identify Uploaded Journals:
Journal entries created by different users can be uniquely identified by the automatic generation of a Group ID. This helps users to track their specific journal batches, especially crucial to organizations that deal with a massive amount of transactions.
Balance by Accounting Date:
Release 10.7 and earlier does not support average daily sets of books, forcing users with this requirement to manually balance journals. We have introduced a new setup option to ensure journals are balanced by accounting date. This feature is especially relevant for financial institutions.
FLEXIBLE BUDGETING:
You can now create budget worksheets that span multiple fiscal years. With this capability you can budget for as little as a single period or for as many as 60 periods. This allows you to capture, graph, and analyze on timelines that suit your business needs. You can now incorporate more information, more easily into your spreadsheet models.
STRONGER EURO COMPLIANCE:
Journal Wizard has been enhanced to conform to all General Ledger Euro compliance rules. These include observance of fixed conversion rates between the Euro and National Currency Units, as well as observance of proper rounding and triangulation procedures.
SIMPLIFIED TECHNOLOGY STACK:
ADI no longer uses ODBC or Excel's data access option. We have replaced the ODBC technology stack with Oracle OCI level programming. This minimizes the layers of third party technology required during report and budget downloads. ADI no longer requires the Data Access Option be installed with Excel.
G E N E R A L A D I I N Q U I R I E S

Subject: ADI Request Center
Hello!
I'm running ADI 4.0 on WinNT (266 MHz, 64 MB RAM), and although I can submit
and publish reports to Excel, I cannot see the Request Center. That is to
say, the "Request Center" button appears on my desktop's toolbar, but even
though I click on it, the Request Center does not appear. To exit the
Request Center, I have to resort to Task Manager.
If someone else signs onto ADI using my PC (under my WinNT account) but with
their Oracle ID, Request Center does not appear. If I go to someone else's
PC and sign on with my Oracle ID under their WinNT account, I can see the
Request Center. If I go to another machine and log on to NT, nobody can see
Request Center.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled ADI so many times I have lost track. The
Diagnostic Wizard comes up "clean" after I update a couple DLL's.
I must conclude that something in WinNT is the culprit. Do any WinNT gurus
have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Bill

I had the same problem with request center, I called support and this is
what they told me to do (it worked):
1. Get a DOS prompt. Change directory to Orawin95\bin and type the
following:
ADIQC32.EXE /REGSERVER and enter
2. Go into Explorer and goto the Orawin95\bin directory
Find ADISEC.EXE and double click on it to register it properly.
3. Reboot the PC and shut down all other programs which launch upon
startup. Now start ADI and/or Request Center
This registered the request center and it launched successfully.
ADI 4.1 compatability with Asset 10.7

Colleen,
I refer to an email you posted on the OraApps list server in relation to
the availability of ADI 4.1.
In this email you listed one of the new features as "compatibility with
Assets Release 10.7". This is something I can really use as I'm in the
middle of an implementation of 10.7SC Assets. However, when I received
the upgrade, I reviewed the FAQ section on the CD in relation to
installation considerations. One of the questions was "Can I use
Applications Desktop Integrator with Oracle Assets Release 10.7?" The
answer was "No, ADI's Asset functionality is currently available only
with Release 11.0". Referring to the same question in the Installation
Guide the answer is "Yes, ADI Release 4.1 is the first release to
provide support for Oracle Assets Release 10.7." As I wanted this
clarified before I set up and started testing, I contacted my local
Support Centre. Their response was a definite "No, ADI 4.1 does not
work with Assets 10.7." But as I've already said, I really want to use
this functionality so I'm not happy with their answer (I'm looking for
someone to tell me what I want to hear!)...which brings me back to
you... Can you please give me a definite yes or no to this question "Is
ADI 4.1 compatible with 10.7SC Assets?"
Thank you for your assistance.

This could still be a touch misleading.
The "create asset" functionality may work with ADI 4.1 and 10.7 - I havent'
tried it.
However, the bit I'm interested in, which is the reports, (the replacement
for Report eXchange) do not work.
WWS are currently arranging a backport of 762118 (note post-install step
10). This will apparently make the reports run but only as "flat" reports
- ie you cannot reformat the output.
