Has anybody worked with the Account generator ? I have heard about this but have not found any documentation on it. I have a problem with a default account in FA. I was told to use Oracle Workflow to rectify this problem along with the Account generator.

Any suggestions ?
TIA

In Release 11, you can find some documentation on Account Generator on Oracle Assets User Guide and Flexfield User Guide. You have to install Oracle Workflow Builder on a workstation and using Workflow Builder you can customize the FA Default Account Generator to meet your need.

Evaluate whether the default Account Generator process meets your accounting requirements. No setup steps are required to use the default. The default process can also be updated later as your needs change. You can make minor changes to the default process without changing the name.

Note: If you used FlexBuilder in Release 10 but did not customize the default configuration, you can use the default Account Generator process in Release 11, which gives you the same result as the default assignments in FlexBuilder.

Account Generator Process from Flexbuilder Rules

Subject: FA: Account Generator Process from Flexbuilder Rules

I am currently working on a upgrade project from Release 10.7 to 11.02.

We are facing the choice between
1 . Rebuilding the changes in Flexbuilder from the 10.7 release in the corresponding workflow of the Account Generator and
2. Using the process that is said to have incorporated the Flexbuilder Rules into Account Generator "Generate Account Using Flexbuilder Rules" process.

I would like to hear from anybody that successfully did the latter (made use of the process "Generate Account Using Flexbuilder Rules").

How should I test that everything works properly ?

Irene,

I have modified the Standard as per choice 1. We are on Release 11.0.1. I copied the standard workflow and gave it a customised name. I also recreated the book level and category level processes. You link the customised process using the Account Generator Process form (FA Account generator = Your customised WF).

Oracle supplied a script to help with the test:

$FA_TOP/admin/sql/faxagtst.sql

The other test is to run a depreciation and check the journals created. You can also use the FA std drilldown reports to check the code combinations of the journals created.

Hope this helps.
