Subject: Cash Forecasting
Anyone out there familiar with Cash Management's (11.02) cash forecasting
capability. This may be too broad of a question but we have defined a very
simplistic template and run a forecast several times with different
parameters and the results are always zeros in all columns and rows.
Any assistance would be appreciated

Difference between Clearing and Reconciling

Subject: Re- Cash Mgt Difference between Clearing and Reconciling a payme
Hi Cash Management Experts,
I have a doubt as regards the difference between Manual Clearing and Manual
Reconciling a payment. When or why should we be using the Clearing
approach????.
I have the following observations,
1. When I reconcile a payment, it is not available for clearing and the
journal passed is
Dr. Cash Clearing account
Cr. Cash/ bank account
2. When I clear a payment, the status changes to Cleared . I can
further reconcile this payment and the following journals are passed
On Clearing
Dr. Cash Clearing account
Cr. Cash/ bank account
On Reconciling
DR Cash Clearing
CR Cash Clearing
DR. Cash./ Bank
CR Cash/ Bank
Shall appreciate any advice on the above.

Chetan Banglorewala
GL Date of reconciled entries

I am reconciling checks on July 1st however they relate to the June period.
So I changed my GL date on the statement to 6/30/99 because I want them to
post in the June period. However, when I run the Payables Transfer to GL
they get posted in the June period.
What am I doing wrong.

I presume you mean they are posting in the July period.
Just a few points to note:
Firstly, are you using reconciliation accounting? (refer to your Payables
setup)
Secondly, the GL date you select when performing the reconciliation refers
to the date that will be applied if you create transactions from cash
management for items such as bank charges, miscellaneous receipts, etc.
Based on your answer to the first question, I might be able to give you some
assistance.

Yes, they are posting in the July Period and yes, I am using
reconciliation accounting. I can't figure out what caused it to post in
July. They tell me the July GL period was still open and the July Ap
period was still open. The GL date on the statement was 6/30/99, put it
posted in July????
Voiding a payment does not reflect true picture in cash-in-transit report

Subject: CE: Cash Management voided payments "back-dating" in GL
Hi
We are on 10.7 NCA
We have found that if we void a payment in the month after the payment was
originally recorded, but before we have closed off that previous month in
Payables, the reversal created by the void process is posted back into that
previous period. However, the Cash-in-transit report in Cash Management as
at that monthend date includes that payment as outstanding, causing
complications with the bank reconciliation process.
Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, do you know if this should be
happening?
All help is appreciated.

Bank Charges - handling

Subject: Cash Management???
Hi Guys,
We are implementing GL,AP,PO and Cash Management Release 11.0.3 and No
AR. I have questions regarding Bank Charges and Bank Errors. How are
these handled in Cash Management with out AR. I would like to mention
the following example.
1. A check has been issued for $100 in AP of which $95 towards the
actual expense and $5 towards the bank charges. How is this handled?
2. A check has been issued for $100 in AP and the amount actually
cleared in the bank is $102 which in within the defined tolerance. How
is it handled in AP?
I tried to understand the documentation but I need the inputs from
those who actually handled this.
Thanks in advance.

It really does not matter that you do not have AR. It would matter if you
were trying to reconcile interest or receipts but you have not indicated
that.
1. Handled normally (charged to the distribution accounts). I am assuming
the check was issues for 100 and cleared for 100. It is different if it was
issued for 95 and cleared for 100. But that is your next example so I
assumed you would not put two examples that were the same.
2. If the difference between a payment amount and the statement line amount
is within defined tolerances, Cash Management posts the difference to either
the Payables Bank Charges account or the Bank Errors account, depending on
how you defined the Cash Management AP Tolerance Differences system
parameter.

Bank Statement - make visible to Bank Statement Import Conc. Prog.

Subject: Cash Management
Hello gurus.
I've written a stored procedure using utl_file to load the cash management
interface tables: ce_statement_headers_int_all and
ce_statement_lines_interface.
When I view the lines in the
Cash Management - Bank Reconciliation - Bank Statement Interface
screen the records are all correct. But I have to edit and save the record
from within this form before the statement is "visible" to the concurrent
program
"Bank Statement Import". From then on it works fine.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks,
Tom-

Subject: Cash Mangement-Receipts not available
Hi All
We are having a problem in CashManagement. We are not getting the receipts
entered in Receivables as Available transactions in CM. We have used a
Receitp class which requires no remittance and matching is directly. The
status of the receipts is cleared. The receipts with reversed status are
coming in CM. Can any body give the reason for the same. The payments from
AP are available in CM.
Any Early help is appreciated.

You need to set up the Receipt Class Clearance Method = By Matching if you
want the transactions available to be reconciled manually.
