Value Sets not appearing

Date: Tue, 15 Jun 1999 18:37:35 EDT
From: Mark Thomas appsora@hotmail.com
Subject: Value Sets

Hello:

I was trying to use the AR_LOOKUPS table for a particular Valueset. I created a lookup type and created the values for it and used the table validation and created the value set.

Later i used this value set for a particular parameter in the report. The error i was getting is no list of values found for this parameter. I checked, there are values under that lookup type in AR_LOOKUPS, but i am not sure why i am not getting them as a pick.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated. --Mark

Changing Right Justify in AFF value set

For one of the segments in AFF, we have not specified 'Right Justify and Zero Fill'. We have only few values in this value set. Is there any safe way to enable the Right Justify feature now. What are the precautions to be taken.

Thanks in Advance Akshay

Akshay,

If I remember well:

If the segment was enabled you had to fill in at least one value anyway so Right justified and Zero as default are for easier and faster quick pick filling. I would feel comfortable to go ahead.

If the segment was not enabled, then the tables are empty and you willneed to add values directly in the tables. This direct intervention is required for you cant have blanks in these flexfields.

Dear Rohit,
The change is not being allowed at form level. Are there any risks in updating at the table level.
Thanks Akshay

Subject: GL: Splitting Cost Centers

Hi guys,

We are about to split an existing cost center (say X) into X,Y and Z (3 cost centers). From Oracle Apps viewpoint, what are the factors we should see beforewe split? Like one factor I can think of is to create new account combinations.

TIA, Dipankar

How to extract values in rows of a user defined Table in a value set

From: IjlalR@mashreqbank.com
Subject: GEN: Creating Value Set which shows list of rows in a User Define

Hi.

I would like to read the exact values in the rows of a User Defined Table in a value set. Could someone tell me what the SQL query would be like (all tables that must be read in order to get this info)? Hoping for a quick reply as we go live very soon.

Thanks in advance. Ijlal
