I've looked in the docs and can't find anything about the Notify option
when running standard reports. How is the list of values created? The
demo database looks like it has Job titles, Usernames, and maybe
groupcodes? How does the Notify work?

PA Commitments

From: "Corso, Raffaelina" corsor@tabcorp.com.au
Subject: PA Commitments
We currently monitor our commitments - outstanding Purchase Orders -
through PA. Due to the nature of our supplier contracts we often pay
a deposit on the entire order, and then the balance at time of
delivery.
In PA, when a deposit is matched to each unit, the ENTIRE commitment
is reduced to zero. To overcome this we currently reduce the quantity
matched, instead of unit price invoiced to reflect the deposit. (eg
200 units * 25% = 50 units * 100%).
This method does cause problems when progressive deliveries are made
(eg 15 units * 75% = 11.25 * 100%)
As this can get very difficult to administer and does not reflect the
true position of the Purchase Order, we wanted to reduce the
commitment amount by dollars paid instead of units received.
Can this be done? (We are using GUI 10.7.)

Raff

Inv format not used to group lines for Credit Memo

Invoice Format for non-labour: Expenditure Type by Task
Problem: OPA Invoice format not being used to group lines for credit memo
Has anyone seen this behaviour? Here's the scenario. We enter an
expenditure batch (let's say 10 expenditure items) for non-labour and run
streamline process. OPA generates one revenue and one invoice. We release
the invoice and transfer it to AR. Next, we reverse the expenditures by
creating an expenditure batch and reversing the original expenditures. We
run the stream line process again and OPA generates one revenue and "TEN"
credit memos with one line for each credit memo. Why does OPA group invoice
and credit memo differently? Is it a bug?
Any input would be greately appreciated.

A month ends in the middle of a week. If the consultant sends in 4.5 time

What are the implication from an accounting and date standpoint.

Transferring revenue from PA to GL - Performance problem

Subject: URGENT -- URGENT -- Transfering Revenue from PA to GL
hi friends
Yesterday around 5 o clock we ran the process of Transfering Draft Revenue
from PA to GL. Till know (around 16 hours ) it completes only the 40% of
projects. The process is extremely slow.
What we did is, brought the legacy data and validated in a custom table.
Then we ran the process of Generate Draft Revenue from PA. It went offf
successfully in 5 hours. We checked there are no errors and all the revenues
are released through the revenue review form. We also checked the
pb_error_messages table for any errors which there are none. Then we ran the
process of transfering the revenue from pa to gl without giving any
parameters. It mean for all the projects.
Did I miss any steps in the process? If not what i have to do to make the
process fast(includes any customization if at all required). as we are in
the production, your assistance in this crucial juncutre is highly
aprreciated.

Transferring Costed Payroll to Projects

From: Oracle - Kathy Farmer oracleadmin@co.scott.mn.us
Subject: PA:Transferring Costed Payroll to Projects
PA Gurus:
10.7SC GUI
We have a requirement to pass costed payroll (hours and dollars) to
Projects. Payroll costs are interfaced from Payroll to GL. While we can
populate PA_EXPENDITURE_ITEMS_ALL using the standard PA open interface, we
cannot populate the GL information we would like to view in
COST_DISTRIBUTION_LINES_ALL. We have a requirement to report on project
data using both the PA expenditure date and the GL date.
Ideally, we would really like our payroll interface to projects to emulate
the "Interface Supplier Invoices from Payables" process where both
PA_EXPENDITURE_ITEMS_ALL AND PA_COST_DISTRIBUTIONS_LINES_ALL are populated.
Our concern is that if we develop such an interface it won't be supported
and future upgrades may be problematic.
A work around we have discussed is populating the GL date in a DFF in the
interface table so it would be available for reporting.
Has anyone met similar requirements? Suggestions? Ideas?
Thanks.

Labor Burden Process - Expenditure type rate as 0 %
Date: Mon, 12 Jul 1999 20:21:48 -0600
From: kbrown@es.com
To: oraapps-l@cpa.qc.ca
Subject: PA: Labor Burden Process
Does anyone out there use the labor burden process in Oracle Projects? If
so, please keep reading, else you can stop here.
If so, can you help with this dilemma?
We are wanting to set one of our expenditure type's rate to
0% in the burden schedule, for labor that has been distributed and
interfaced within the quarter. When setting the expenditure type rate to 0%
in the burden schedule the burden-cost is calculated correctly; however, the
expenditure type that was changed, when viewed in the expenditure inquiry or
in the cost distribution lines, still retains the value calculated at the
original burden rate of say 50%.
Can anyone tell me why it is the burden cost value is
recalculated at the new rate of 0% yet the expenditure item itself is not
set to $0.00?
Mind you, we have a little different process here where the
expenditure items are 'broken out' from the original expense so our
expenditures would look something like:
This is how it looked before making the change (in TEST of
course):
Exp Type Raw Cost Burden Cost
Labor $1,000 $1,500
Overhead $500 $ 0
I now want it to look like:
Exp Type Raw Cost Burden Cost
Labor $1,000 $1,000
Overhead $ 0 $ 0
Only it's looking like:
Exp Type Raw Cost Burden Cost
Labor $1,000 $1,000
Overhead $ 500 $ 0
I realize this is somewhat of a custom process we've
implemented here but I thought this list was at least a shot at some help.
Thank you in advance,
Kristie

Which release are you implementing? Oracle Projects Burden functionality
was changed a lot from 10.7 to 11.
Are you trying to run recosting of previously burdened EI? Or the new
zero rate is applied for new period / new items?

The autoaccounting rule contains a simple SQL statement which uses a

Has anyone seen this error before?
The total number of parameters for all autoaccounting rules is approx.
12.
Is this too many?

Attached is the Vendor Invoice Adjustment Cost Exception Report that
you get when you run 'PRC: Distribute Supplier Invoice Adjustment
Costs'. My problem is that it does not show me what account it is
building so I do not know what is wrong. (lines 1 and 2). I have
traced it down to one segment by process of elimination. The logic to
build that segment in SQL is very complicated. Where can I see the
account that it built?
In lines 3 and 4 it tells me that I have a null CCID. I looked at
the AP invoice and the account is in there. Is there something I am
missing? Please note that the debit side went through with no
problems.

Hi Danette,
This may or may not help. You may want to look at the parameters that
you are using as input to the SQL Statement.

Subject: PA: account generator for Req's and PO's
I am attempting to set up the Build Project Related Account function in
WorkFlow for the following items: PO Account Generator and PO Requisition
Account Generator.
I have been able to successfully set up the supplier invoices and expense
reports account generator functions using the Lookup Set Segment Value
function and assigning the value to the GL account code.
My problem is that there is no Segment Lookup Set Value function to pull
values and compare them to a lookup set and there is no attribute value of
Lookup Set Value in the Assign Value to Segment function.
Has anyone encountered this and resolved it. Oracle told me that it was
"unsupported" but I find this ridiculous. Thanks in advance.
