View reports run by others

Date: Mon, 19 Jul 1999 11:08:54 -0400 (EDT)
From: David Callaghan callaghand@yahoo.com
Subject: Production Schedule?

Good Morning,
I am looking for some help. I have a group of users submitting jobs/requests using different responsibilities. They want to be able to view reports run by others on line. I know Oracle allows users to view reports of others within the same responsibility. Concurrent:Report Access Level must be set to responsibility. We have our responsibilities set-up in a hierarchy. (I.e. GL00 Superuser to GL07 Accounting Clerk) Canned Oracle allows for a horizontal integration any suggestions on how to achieve a vertical integration where a user with a higher responsibility has the right to see your output. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Regards, David Callaghan

May be report group will help you. You can include all the reports in the Lower group to the higher group and can assign this to the higher responsibility.

Thanks, MOHAN

I do not believe a Report Group would help here. Mohan, please explain how the other Users would be able to see a Concurrent Request submitted by another. As far as I know you can not accomplish this with standard functionality.

Cheers,

Hi,

Look at the system profile option "Concurrent:Report Access Level". It can be set to either "User" or "Responsibility" which would determine at what level the request log/output files are controlled (by user or by responsibility).

I hope that helps.

Reports in Rel 11.02

From: "Bartoletti, Mike" BartolMi@rf.suny.edu
Subject: GEN: Reports in Release 11.0.2

When I bring an RDF file from the server onto my PC and open it in Dev2k Reports 2.5, I get a bunch of warnings about sizing and character mode and other stuff. Can I develop the reports in Win95 and then port them over to the apps sever, or do I need to develop them on the server software (Solaris)? In the reports directories under the module top directories, the rdf files are present not the REPs, why? Any help would be great. Thanks

Mohan,

What about something on the order of:

1) Build a special little Printer Driver on the order of "mv $PROFILE$.FILENAME directory_you_want _to_put_this_thing"

2) Define a DUMMY type printer this driver for the report

3) Use the DUMMY type printer for your report, when report is generated it moves it to the location you want, instead of printer queue.

You get the idea. Regards.

Customize Std report-change in rdf not seen in all connected reports

Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1999 13:47:35 -0500
From: Bharat Patel bpatel@DOMINOAMJET.com
Subject: Customization of Standard Reports

Hi, Guys I get rid of the some fields from the standard reports call CSTRINVR.rdf. This rdf files shares by two reports called SUBINVENTORY ACCOUNT VALUE REPORT and INVENTORY VALUE REPORT. I can see the changes in only Inventory value report but I can't see the same changes in other report. I would like to see the changes in Subinventory account value report only.

I am thinking to register a new report with all the changes I want. Only thing I am wondering is why I can't see the changes in both reports if this single rdf shares by two reports.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Hi Bharat,
The SUBINVENTORY ACCOUNT VALUE report is CSTRSAVR.rdf While the INVENTORY VALUE report is CSTRINVR.rdf They are two different reports

Check which report you are changing

Ahalya, I went through sysadmin res and found out regarding the executable rdf for SUBINVENTORY ACCOUNT VALUE REPORT. It has the CSTRINVR.rdf. the CSTRSAVR is the short name of that report. This one I did before any modification to that report.

thanks.

Averae calculation in Reports

Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1999 16:23:51 -0500
From: "Cheley, Dave" DCheley@sandc.com
Subject: Report Question

I am working on an Oracle report with Developer 200 and I am having a problem with creating a field with an average value. The problem is that I have columns that contain values but they also contain zero's. I want to calculate the average of the column but in the calculation it calculates the average with the zero's. For example, if I had the values 0 and 100. I want the average to be 100 (ignoring the 0) but it actually calculates the average to be 100. I would imagine that there is some simple solution to this problem but I am missing it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Sriram

You have to load the 32 bit version of Developer/2000 in your client. You are facing this problem because right now the 16 bit version of Developer/2000 is loaded in your machine with the limit of 65023 bytes.

Hope this helps.

What platform is your production? If it is UNIX, modify the report in UNIX platform only because you have size limitation on Windows platform.

Hi Bob

While installing the Oracle Applications we have to specify the Output and Log directory to install program. After installation all the Output and Log files go to the respective Output and Log directories.

There is an option while installation where we can specify that whether we want seperate Output and Log directories for individual modules or only one common set of Output and Log directories for all the Modules.

Hope it solves your problem.

Hi Bob,
Is the report using UTL_File to create the file? If so, one of the parameters in the 'FOPEN' statement has to be the location. This location must be one of the allowable directories defined at instance start up.
